How to dismantle your Fear


How would it feel if you let go of the fear and stress and what-if’s? What would happen (or not happen) then?

What big change are you afraid of taking a leap for? What opportunities have you missed out on because you’re afraid of

  • Being broke
  • Disappointing people
  •  -the big one- Failure

What would it take for you to look that fear in the face and stick your tongue out at it?

The last two weeks have been quite a whirlwind in my little corner of the world.

In addition to this and my full time job, I’m still hustling with my coaching and workshopping, which is where my true passion lies. Plus continuing to create content for my lovely tribe (yeah, you!) So yes, lots going on here! In times of transition like these, it’s super easy to get stuck by a couple of things:

Fear + Non-presence

These two things are pretty dang crippling all of the time, but especially in times of major change.

Fear has this way of creeping up at times when big opportunities are presented to us. It also tends to show its ugly face when we’re trying to work up the courage to make a big change- ones that we’ve known for a while need to be made.

Non-presence is the subtler of the two. In the midst of all the chaos of transition we often get fixated on what ‘needs’ to happen, what went wrong or what is coming next. We lose sight of the most important thing of all- the now.

What is happening right now for you?

Not in five minutes. Not tonight after work. Not this weekend.

What is going on in your body, in front of your eyes, and in your space?

Can you be with all of this?

Can you acknowledge how precious this one fleeting moment is?

Can you let go of the stressors of tomorrow and be with the present moment, fully? What would that take?

Maybe an even better question is...

How would it feel if you let go of the fear and stress and what-if’s?

What would happen (or not happen) then?

This curiosity is a practice

But when you can step back and look at the ‘field of action, AKA the stuff going on around you, and acknowledge how you can be more present with it, then you’re doing just fine.

This week I’m focusing on getting with it. Despite the amount of hours I’m scheduled, despite all of the tasks on my to-do list, and despite the fact that I have so much more to do to get to where I’d ideally like to be with my business- I’m focusing on enjoying the ride.
